About The Position

The Associate Packaging Engineer at Perdue Farms is responsible for supporting the development of food products to meet the company's business needs. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Food/Meat Science, packaging, or Food Engineering plus 0-3 years related work experience.
• Knowledge of the product development process from idea generation to commercialization.
• Ability to influence necessary cross-functional partners for successful project implementation.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and the sequence of events necessary to convert raw materials to finished products.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to applicable safety, regulatory, and GMP requirements in lab, pilot plant, and manufacturing facilities.
• Assist in writing new policies and procedures as needed.
• Conduct development projects to grow top line volume in support of New Product Development as a percentage of revenue goals.
• Perform required lab, pilot plant, and plant experimentation with direction and support.
• Document all development work accurately, including lab work, product showing, and plant trials with guidance.
• Prepare accurate and timely specifications for all products developed, including materials, formula, process, and finished product with guidance.
• Understand customer/consumer needs for assigned products and channels.
• Interact cross-functionally with Marketing, Purchasing, QA, and Operations to implement new product developments.
• Assist and lead Product Showings to evaluate developed products and competition.
