About The Position

Unilever Food Solutions (UFS) is the 2nd largest Business Unit of Unilever, operating in over 76 countries with approximately 4000 employees. The position of Associate Packaging Engineer involves delivering key packaging activities to support Innovations, Cost Savings, Business Continuity, and Sustainability programs. The role requires managing multiple package development projects and prioritizing tasks based on timelines. The candidate will work in a cross-functional team environment, collaborating with various departments including Brand, Planning, Product Group R&D, Procurement, Quality, and material suppliers. The position also interfaces with Manufacturing and Supply Chain for packaging-related projects, including line trials and production start-ups.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Packaging Science or engineering equivalent.
  • 1-2 years' experience in the packaging field.
  • Experience with rigid plastic technology and distribution/transit testing.
  • Understanding of package development process and engineering principles.
  • Ability to design and develop primary and secondary packaging components that meet consumer, Brand, customer, and manufacturing objectives.
  • General understanding of project management to maintain Packaging commitments to project scheduling.
  • Understanding of consumer, business, and category needs related to packaging decisions.
