About The Position

The Associate Originator at Valero's Fort Dodge ethanol plant is responsible for procuring grain and establishing supplier relationships while supporting the goals and objectives of the commodities group and the Company. This role involves purchasing feedstock with a focus on direct farmer purchases, establishing relationships with area producers through consistent communication and farm visits, and assisting with updating a database of competitor bids, discount schedules, and receiving hours. The Associate Originator will also assist with maintaining a regional corn supply/demand estimate, communicate grain contract types offered to farmers, and recommend contract types to meet the needs of individual farmers. Additionally, the position requires entering purchase contracts into the grain accounting system. This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in Agriculture Economics or a related business field required.
• Willingness to relocate to Valero offices across the Midwest to gain knowledge of new trade areas and support Valero's commercial operations, as needed required.
• Able and willing to work on-site and in-person, required.
