The School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences (BBS) at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) seeks to fill a tenure-system late Associate or Full Professor faculty position with a scientist leading an established clinical research program and qualified to serve as the Director of the Clinical & Translational Research Center (CTRC) at UT Dallas. The CTRC is a Center jointly supported between the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences and the UT Dallas Office of Research and Innovation. Researchers assessing pharmaceutical or device-based interventions with FDA oversight (approved IND or IDE) will be prioritized for hire. Applicants leading rigorous clinical trial programs outside the oversight of the FDA will also be considered. This position requires an active research program with current extramural funding, publications in highly regarded peer-reviewed journals, a record of excellence in teaching, and a history of institutional and professional service. Successful applicants will be appointed to the Department of Neuroscience, the Department of Psychology, or the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing. Faculty members teach undergraduate and graduate level courses within their discipline and area of expertise. Joint appointments are possible and cross-listing of undergraduate and graduate seminars facilitates multi-disciplinary student education. The appointment commences for the fall 2026 semester. BBS additionally houses highly regarded clinical education programs in both Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, including the nation's 5th ranked audiology program and 18th ranked speech-language pathology program, and is in the process of launching a new Clinical Psychological Science program. In the past year, BBS was recognized by the BlueRidge Institute for being #1 in Texas and #3 in the United States for NIH funding for schools of its type. Within BBS, faculty members are surrounded by colleagues who interface with science and technology at every level of translation - with a keen focus on using our science to impact the health and well-being of people around the world while training the scientific leaders of tomorrow. The UT Dallas Clinical and Translational Research Center provides comprehensive support for clinical research including regulatory support, administrative staffing, and access to core facilities. Clinical and translational research programs are additionally facilitated by the UT Dallas Sammons BrainHealth Imaging Center. Additional opportunities for vibrant interdisciplinary collaborations are available with UT Dallas Centers including the Callier Center for Communication Disorders, the Center for Vital Longevity, the Center for Children and Families, the Texas Biomedical Device Center, and the Center for Advanced Pain Studies. BBS faculty also have vigorous collaborations with the UT Dallas Bioengineering and Electrical Engineering programs, the UT Southwestern Medical Center, and Baylor University Medical Center.
