About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level) to join our team located in Huntsville, AL! This position’s primary duties will be supporting BDS programs, including Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) performing First Article Inspection (FAI), Corrective Actions, Non-Conformance Review (NCR) disposition, review/approving/interpreting engineering drawing requirements, approving work instructions, and interfacing with customers and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Engineering Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry
  • Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action
  • Experience working with Non-Conformance (NCR) processes
  • Experience with First Article Inspections (i.e. AS9102)
  • Experience reading, understanding, and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications

Nice To Haves

  • Level 3: 3 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years' experience presenting technical briefings to various audiences
  • 1+ years' experience performing line stock checks
  • 1+ years' experience leading or managing projects and/or teams
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance
  • Experience communicating to employees, customers, peers and multiple levels of leadership
  • Experience working with and building cross functional teams and partnerships with multiple stakeholders within the company, including engineering

Responsibilities

  • Researches contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements for applicability to specific proposals and program processes and documentation
  • Develops sections of quality metrics, design and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements
  • Analyzes capability assessments to support supplier selection activities
  • Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs
  • Performs data analysis to ensure manufacturing and test readiness
  • Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Compiles performance reports and other statistical data to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved
  • Works under general supervision

  • Summary pay range for Associate - Level 2: $83,300 – $112,700
  • Summary pay range for Mid-Level - Level 3: $100,300 – $135,700
