About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is looking for an Associate or Mid-level Electronic & Electrical Wire & Equipment Installation Engineer to join our team in Mesa, Arizona. This position will support the Platform System integrated product team (IPT) on Apache, Little Bird, and enterprise wire and equipment design efforts in Mesa, Arizona. The department is within the Boeing Defense, Space, and Security organization. The position will focus on the electrical and electronic design requirements for fielded aircraft, current production aircraft, and modernization efforts for future production aircraft configurations. The Platform Systems IPT is a cross functional team responsible for the entire life cycle of its products from acquisition through fielding and sustainment which includes Wire and Wire Harness, Flight Control, Flight Management System, Hydraulics, and Electrical Power Systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Electrical engineering experience
  • Mechanical engineering experience
  • Manufacturing engineering experience
  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Level 2: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
  • Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Nice To Haves

  • 3D modeling with software such as, but not limited to, NX Unigraphics, CATIA, SolidWorks, SolidEdge, etc.
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Microsoft suite experience

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs.
  • Analyzes results and performs design reviews.
  • Develops and maintains electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas).
  • Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).
  • Documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities.
  • Develops basic statements of work.
  • Participates in technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
  • Analyzes functional and physical input to assure development of complete integrated design.
  • Works under general direction.
