The position is at the rank of Associate or Full professor; however, senior Assistant Professors with an exceptional record of excellence will also be considered. The selected candidates will lead and conduct cybersecurity research, mentor early-career faculty, grow research programs, and foster interdisciplinary collaboration across CAICC departments. This appointment in the Department of Computer Engineering, with potential for joint appointments in other CAICC departments. Candidates appointed at the rank of Full Professor will designated as University of Texas System (UT System) Research Excellence Regents' Professors. The Regents' Research Excellence Program (RREP) was established by the UT System to accelerate research excellence across its four Emerging Research Universities (ERUs), including UT San Antonio. Through this initiative, UT System has committed significant funding to recruit mid- to senior-level, research-active faculty to dramatically grow its national research prominence and federal funding opportunities. UT San Antonio's allocation from the UT System supports approximately 40 new faculty positions over the next several years. These positions are intended to attract accomplished scholars whose expertise will strengthen the university's research enterprise, address pressing societal challenges, and advance institutional goals aligned with UT System and Texas Legislature priorities. Through RREP, UT San Antonio seeks to recruit outstanding faculty from varied backgrounds and disciplines who will contribute to the university's mission and help shape its future as a premier public research institution.
