The Boeing PAC-3 program is seeking an Associate or Experienced Systems Engineer to join our Processor Integrated Product Team (IPT). As a Systems Engineer for the Processor IPT, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to ensure the successful design and manufacturing of the Processor to meet the performance, reliability, and safety requirements of the seeker system. Systems Engineers are responsible for development and adherence of the Processor requirements and the interfaces of the Processor with the rest of the Seeker system. The Boeing PAC-3 program is producing seekers every day as well as developing a new design of the seeker and looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead Systems Engineer for our Processor IPT! This position is located at the Boeing Jetplex facility in Huntsville, AL. Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC-3) program is an air-defense missile system designed to counter tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and advanced aircraft where Boeing is the original engineering manufacturer of the seeker. Boeing's seekers provide active data to the PAC-3 missile which enables it to acquire, intercept and destroy threats using hit-to-kill technology. The PAC-3 Seeker team is a cross-functional, highly skilled, motivated group embracing the beliefs that focused safety, execution, LEAN manufacturing and business practices will secure our future and well-being, driving our product to be the seeker of choice for the PAC-3 program and future generations of weapon systems.

  • Develop and ensure compliance with system requirements and specifications of the design and development of the Processor subsystem for the PAC-3 missile seeker
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software engineers, and signal processing experts, to ensure seamless integration of the digital processor assembly with the overall missile seeker system
  • Define and document the Processor and associated test equipment architecture, interfaces, and operational characteristics
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines in the design and implementation of the Digital Processor
  • Support test plans and procedure development to verify the functionality and performance of the Processor subsystem
  • Support the troubleshooting and resolution of any technical issues or anomalies related to the Processor during development, integration, manufacturing, and testing phases
  • Support the integration and testing of the digital processor assembly within the missile seeker system, troubleshooting any issues that arise and implementing necessary design modifications
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in Processor technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to enhance the performance and capabilities of our missile seeker system
  • Conferred Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications
  • Familiarity with design, development, and integration of digital processor assemblies for missile seekers or similar sensor-based systems
  • Familiarity of digital signal processing principles, embedded systems, and FPGA-based designs relevant to digital processor assemblies
  • System engineering experience (2+ years) including architecture and interface development and definition and requirement derivation
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to missile seeker systems
  • Experience coordinating across multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Existing Secret security clearance
  • Proficiency in using hardware description languages (e.g., VHDL, Verilog) and software tools for modeling, simulation, and analysis (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, Xilinx ISE/Vivado, Altera Quartus)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques for electronic assemblies, including PCB design and fabrication
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques for precision mechanical components
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex systems and troubleshoot technical issues
