About The Position

The primary role of this position is to provide optical engineering support on various aerospace programs. These programs utilize imaging systems ranging from UV to LWIR regions of the EM radiation spectrum. Engineering support is in the form of design/analysis and alignment/test of optical systems and components.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Optics, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar field or have completed their Bachelor's degree within the last 12 months
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in optical design/modeling, systems trade studies, and analysis of remote sensing infrared and visible space qualified systems and components
  • Experience in optical engineering or aerospace industry
  • Knowledge of Code V and/or Zemax software tools
  • Excellent communication, technical writing and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of FRED, MATLAB, Python
  • Exposure to Systems Engineering standards, processes and disciplines

Responsibilities

  • Testing of optical systems and components
  • Working with cross-discipline teams to build and utilize optical test sets
  • Performing troubleshooting and requirements verification
  • Optical design, modeling and programming
  • Conducting systems trade studies
