About The Position

The Associate Ophthalmic Technician at Rendr plays a crucial role in providing support to patients and assisting ophthalmologists in delivering high-quality eye care. This entry-level position involves patient interaction, data entry into the EMR system, and performing basic ocular measurements and diagnostic tests. The technician will also help maintain a clean and organized work environment while ensuring patient comfort and understanding during their visits.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual in English and Cantonese; Mandarin is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge in medical terminology is preferred.
• Knowledgeable in EMR systems, MDLand is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and a customer service orientation.

Nice To Haves

• Formal education and/or experience in Optometry or Ophthalmology is preferred.
• Previous experience in a medical practice is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and records necessary medical information in the EMR system.
• Performs basic ocular measurements and ophthalmic diagnostic tests as per established guidelines.
• Answers basic patient questions and provides information without giving medical advice.
• Explains test and examination procedures to patients, offering reassurance and support.
• Escorts patients to the procedure room for further examination by the physician.
• Maintains cleanliness of the procedure/treatment area and consultation room.
• Assists with administrative tasks such as preparing School Screening Forms and DMV forms.
