About The Position

IFC — a member of the World Bank Group — is the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets. We work in more than 100 countries, using our capital, expertise, and influence to create markets and opportunities. Our mission is to leverage the power of the private sector to end extreme poverty and boost shared prosperity on a livable planet. IFC's Economics & Private Sector Development Vice Presidency ensures a consistent focus on development results and impact across IFC's operations. Our team provides independent economic analysis to all of IFC's operations, and leads blended finance programming and partnership development. The Vice Presidency supports the implementation of IFC's business strategy for effective delivery of our programs to clients and partners, in close collaboration with relevant counterparts across the World Bank Group. The Partnerships and Blended Finance Department sits within the Economics & Private Sector Development Vice Presidency. It has two primary functions: a Partnerships unit that engages in fundraising from a variety of sovereign and non-sovereign counterparts for use in IFC advisory services and in providing blended concession finance; and a Blended Finance unit that manages the deployment of IFC blended finance and reporting back to donors to ensure use of their funds are consistent with donor intent and optimized for development impact. The Associate Operations Officer will report to the Principal Portfolio Officer in the Office of the Director, Partnerships and Blended Finance.
