About the Nutrition Team The Nutrition Program leads the work for Evidence Action’s Deworm the World and Iron and Folic Acid Supplementation Programs. Evidence Action’s Deworm the World (DtW) is an incredibly high-impact program, helping to deliver over 2.2 billion treatments to children for intestinal worms since 2014. Deworm the World provides technical assistance to governments to implement high-quality, cost-effective, and sustainable programming. Evidence Action’s Equal Vitamin Access (EVA) is an extremely cost-effective program that supports governments in delivering iron and folic acid (IFA) treatments to over 27 million children annually to prevent iron deficiency anemia, a leading cause of malnutrition and disability worldwide. Reporting to our Senior Program Manager, you will play a key role in supporting DtW programs in Tanzania and Malawi; the EVA program in Malawi; and broader support to the Global DtW team, including scoping potential programmatic expansion efforts throughout Africa and Asia.

Requirements

  • You hold a bachelor's degree with 3-5 years' of relevant work experience OR Masters degree with 1-3 years of relevant work experience in public health, international development, economics or other related field
  • You can manage multiple competing deadlines and priorities with managerial support
  • You have experience in program management and operations, including building or adapting structured but flexible processes.
  • You are experienced in data analysis; and have the ability to analyze both quantitative and qualitative data and develop analytical products
  • You are energized by working on complex projects in global contexts, while coordinating with cross-cutting functions and teams, in a matrixed environment.
  • You can analyze research and have had experience reviewing academic literature, and synthesizing large quantities of data for decision-making in program design and implementation.
  • You have a passion for Evidence Action’s core values, mission, and programs
  • You are able to travel internationally up to 10% of the time (2x/year)

Responsibilities

  • Support our teams in Tanzania, Malawi and Pakistan with by helping to drive analytical support and data-based decision-making focused on programmatic planning, systems-building, administrative tasks, implementation projects, and M&E of our deworming and IFA supplementation programs
  • Provide strategic support across the DtW team, by assisting with our knowledge management agenda, including literature reviews, staying up to date on relevant deworming research, attending webinars in the NTD space, and general organization and capacity building
  • Contribute to the development of Evidence Action global deworming strategies, implementation activities, and technical products based on WHO technical guidance and cost-effective principles
  • Support effective management and tracking of work-plans, risk trackers, and other tools to ensure key milestones and objectives are being met.
  • Develop and refine existing program tools such as training materials, community mobilization messages, and microplanning tools, amongst others, to support country programs
  • Collaborate with cross-cutting teams (technical, MLE, cost-effectiveness, and program finance) to further our programmatic objectives
  • Assist in the review and development of program budgets and cost-effectiveness analysis
  • Support our expansion efforts, by assisting in preliminary research around existing country capacity, the development of scoping reports and databases, and developing relationships with potential partners in target geographies
