About The Position

We are a 30 bed unit serving many medical patient populations. Our focus is oncology (from new diagnosis to end of life), respiratory diseases, congestive heart failure, and end of life/hospice. Our nurses are trained and certified to administer chemotherapy and other cancer treatments for inpatients. We have a mix of experienced and new graduate nurses who demonstrate great teamwork to provide those we serve with high quality, compassionate care. The Associate Nurse Manager: In collaboration with the Nurse Manager, leads frontline nursing staff in the delivery of patient care. The Associate Nurse Manager coaches and guides nursing staff in the implementation of action plans to achieve organizational goals of quality, efficiency, and excellence in practice.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an RN School of Nursing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Previous leadership related experience
  • Possesses current state RN license
  • Maintain current BLS National Nursing Leadership Certification (when eligible)
  • ACLS (within 6 months of hire)

Responsibilities

  • Adoption of innovative nursing practices based on evidence
  • Effective two-way communication and problem solving at the unit and organizational level
  • Collaborates with the Nurse Manager to complete the recruitment, selection, orientation, and retention of nursing staff
  • Ensures nursing staff compliance with professional development, adherence to nursing standards of practice, regulatory standards, ANA Code of Ethics, peer reviews, organizational and unit policies, mandatory education, infection control practice, scheduling processes and procedures, and I CARE standards of behavior
  • Collaborates with the Nurse Manager in budget development, utilization, evaluation, and adjustment
  • Maintains a healthy work environment utilizing the principles of #just culture#
  • Provides input into the evaluation and evaluates clinical nurses as assigned
  • Mentors charge nurses, and clinical nurses
  • Implements changes in nursing practice and/or patient care through the shared governance
  • Patient and employee rounding in collaboration with the Nurse Manager
  • In the absence of the Nurse Manager, the Associate Nurse Manager assumes the Nurse Manager responsibilities
