Marriott's Data Center & Cloud Networks team is a fast-paced and innovative group that builds network infrastructure to connect hotel guests, properties, and partners. Our cloud data centers host applications such as the Marriott Bonvoy reservations and rewards programs. We are a rapidly growing team that provides the opportunity for autonomy and growth! The Associate Network Architect is responsible for designing optimal LAN and WAN networks comprising of routers, switches, firewalls, and load-balancers. This includes networks in data centers, corporate offices, and third-party co-location PoP sites, all of which host applications and interconnect hotel properties, users, systems, partners, vendors, and public/private cloud networks with a focus on disaster recovery. This role has a heavy emphasis on managing firewalls including segmentation, DMZs, remote access, and overall policy/rules management. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience and/or certification. They should possess at least 7 years of overall Information Technology networking experience, with a strong focus on network engineering, architecture, and design, particularly in building and managing Data Center Networks within a Hybrid environment. The candidate should also have experience in an IT infrastructure lead role, showcasing proficiency in routing protocols, switch fabric technology, firewall security, and load-balancing architecture. In-depth expertise in implementing and architecting Network Security and Firewall solutions over AWS Network Firewall, Checkpoint, and Palo Alto Networks is essential. Strong experience with AWS and Azure networking services is also required, along with proficiency in designing and implementing highly available and fault-tolerant network architectures on these platforms. The Associate Network Architect will manage and lead the design, architecture, configuration, low-level engineering, and deployment of Cloud Networks and Load Balancing solutions, specializing in Palo, Checkpoint firewalls, and multi-cloud Networks. They will define strategy and roadmap, provide guidance, create standards and guidelines, and review architectural designs to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. This role is critical in overseeing and directing the implementation of new systems in collaboration with various stakeholders.
