About The Position

The Associate Motor Repair Technician is responsible for testing, analyzing, and remanufacturing motors to restore them to 100% original performance, ensuring complete customer satisfaction for FANUC America Corporation. This role includes hands-on on-the-job training with supervisors and senior technicians, learning FANUC products and repair processes, actively supporting the Motor Repair team, and maintaining test equipment to ensure accurate and reliable operation.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of six months’ experience of machine shop experience or hands on experience repairing mechanical or electrical equipment.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude to support motor repair, disassembly, remanufacturing, and reassembly tasks.
  • Comfortable using a variety of equipment, including controls, drives, power supplies, hand tools, cleaning equipment, testing meters, overhead crane, Remag Demag machine, saws, drills, pumps and vacuums, oscilloscopes, bearing presses and dial indicators.
  • Comfortable using hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Word and Excel.
  • May be required to lift and move parts weighing up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to work in a factory environment with variable temperatures, exposure to dirt and grease, and the use of solvents to clean motors and parts.
  • Prior formal training or hands-on experience in mechanical fundamentals including the use of hand tools, rotating machinery theory and vibration analysis.
  • Prior formal education or on-the-job knowledge of electrical theory including electric motors, generator theory and semiconductors fundamentals.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate lathe as required for repair tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical trade school or associate degree in Electromechanics or related field preferred.
  • One-year electrical motor repair experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Test and analyze motors to accurately diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Remanufacture motors while learning FANUC products, developing technical troubleshooting skills while learning to operate as a Motor Repair Department team member.
  • Actively participate in structured on-the-job training with Supervisor and senior technicians to develop technical skills and product knowledge.
  • Maintain test equipment in good working condition by performing maintenance, inspections and reporting any issues as needed.
  • Complete repair estimates, remanufacturing tasks and all required documentation with accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail
  • Participate in annual physical inventory activities to ensure accurate tracking and reconciliation of parts and materials.
  • Must be able to work standard business hours, with the flexibility to work overtime as business needs require.
