About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is hiring Associate, Mid-Level, or Senior Control System Engineers within our Equipment & Reliability Engineering organization for our North Charleston, SC Site. The primary responsibilities include designing, analyzing, and modifying aerospace manufacturing equipment and tooling that meet stakeholder requirements. The role involves researching, developing, evaluating, and integrating robotics, automation, and new technologies and processes related to equipment and tooling for applicability to programs and products. The engineer will team with cross-functional subject matter experts to develop and review bids and procurement specifications, estimate, plan, manage, and execute the acquisition and modification of equipment and tooling, and develop and implement testing and acceptance to validate performance. Additionally, the engineer will create and maintain related documentation for equipment and tooling, develop preventative maintenance plans, and train personnel as needed. The role also includes developing and implementing interim solutions for damaged and unsafe equipment and tooling, investigating engineering changes, and controlling equipment and tooling configuration in accordance with company procedures. Finally, the engineer will develop and recommend equipment reliability improvements through the application of reliability engineering tooling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 2 or more years' experience in engineering.
  • Production Critical Asset Care & Performance Continuous Improvement Methodologies and Application.
  • Understanding of asset mechanical and electrical systems & concepts.
  • Project Management Methodologies and Application.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 or more years' experience in engineering.
  • Comprehensive understanding of production assets to include system integration, electrical controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, power systems, mechanical, tooling and fixturing.
  • Highly experienced with Allen Bradley & Siemens PLCs.
  • Thorough understanding of GUI's, HMIs, OIT.
  • Experienced in all VFD systems, Servo's.
  • Highly experienced with Electrical Power Systems, Control Power, Basic Power Distribution up 600Vac, DC controls.
  • Thorough understanding of integration with PLC; Fanuc, ABB, Kuka.
  • Highly experienced with networking of controls, PLC, systems.
  • Experienced with building and setting up data collection systems; machine analysis software.
  • Understanding of industry Reliability Engineering techniques and practices, Preventative, Predictive, Prescriptive maintenance practices; Root Cause Analysis tools and concepts at the highest level.
  • Asset Life Cycle Analysis, identifying obsolescence and mitigation strategy.
  • Asset Data Integrity, Leads Standards and Development.
  • In-depth knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Leads Reliability Workshops to drive reliability across all assets and teams; teaches, mentors, and leads by example.
