About The Position

Element has an opportunity for a Associate Metallurgy Technician (2nd Shift) whose primary responsibility is to perform routine, metallurgical, mechanical, failure, corrosion testing facilitating metallurgy operations at site or at a laboratory. Salary: $22- $26/hr DOE

Requirements

Degree/Diploma in Metallurgy or related discipline
2-4 years of experience working in a laboratory in the field of metallurgy testing
Good knowledge on international standards and codes
Excellent report writing skill
Good communication skills
Self-motivated team playing with excellent organisational and communication skills

Responsibilities

Operate various abrasive saws, mounting presses and polishing equipment.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
Ensure laboratory instruments are in compliance with ISO, ASTM, and other industry standards.
Record test results accurately and generate detailed reports.
Maintain laboratory documentation and ensure compliance with quality control standards.
Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and laboratory best practices.
Ensure testing procedures align with ISO 17025, ASTM, ASME, and other applicable standards.
Participate in laboratory audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Prepare metallic samples for metallurgical testing, including cutting, grinding, and polishing.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment (i.e. cleaning) such as saws, grinders, and polishers.
Ensure samples meet required specifications and industry standards for metallurgical analysis.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
