About The Position

An Associate Merchant is responsible for assisting in the management and execution of seasonal assortments. This role serves as a key point person for various cross-functional business partners including production, marketing, design, allocation, and planning, and contributes to driving the strategy for the categories they oversee.

Requirements

• 3+ years’ Merchandising experience
• Proficient in Excel
• Demonstrated analytical and business skills
• Strong presentation skills

Responsibilities

• Build an on-trend Omni assortment with channel-specific strategies in mind
• Initiate market/competitor analysis and always be on top of industry trends
• Communicate changes to all cross-functional partners - planning, production, design and wholesale
• Participate in store visits
• Prepare and analyze Omni selling recaps to drive your business
• Make recommendations on how to optimize current sales and affect future plans
• Partner with planning in pre-season to plan and buy your department based on comprehensive analysis of the business – last year results, current business, etc
• Participate in inventory management and control with planning and distribution teams
• Participate with pricing and profit strategies – make promotional and markdown suggestions to drive profitable gross margin results
• Review new receipts against business trend to maximize sales and stock
