About The Position

Black & Veatch is seeking a highly motivated person to function as a Midlevel Mechanical Engineer in the design of mechanical systems supporting Nuclear Power Generation. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with various design engineering execution teams across the US and abroad. Under general supervision, you will perform all aspects of mechanical system design engineering and analysis for assigned systems of responsibility. You will acquire knowledge of both Black & Veatch and industry standards and implement them in project development, prepare moderately complex engineering deliverables, conduct research, and develop project design recommendations.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
  • Minimum of 1 year related work experience.
  • Engineering-in-training (EIT) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Instrument and/or Service Air Systems.
  • Experience in Demineralized (DM) water supply and make up systems.
  • Experience in Service and potable water supply system.
  • Experience in Natural, hydrogen, and nitrogen gas Supply System.
  • Experience in Closed cycle cooling water system.
  • Experience in High Pressure / Intermediate Pressure / Low / Auxiliary Steam system.
  • Experience in Feedwater and condensate systems.
  • Experience in CO2 Supply System.
  • Experience in calculations which include pipe sizing calculations, pipe thickness calculations, pump sizing calculation, control valve sizing calculations, heat exchanger sizing, atm. tank sizing etc.
  • Experience in P&ID development.
  • Experience in air, gas, water & steam systems.

Responsibilities
