About The Position
At Joseph’s Classic Market, our Meat Associates do more than prepare and stock meat—they help uphold a tradition of quality, service, and care that sets us apart. Founded by a third-generation butcher, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of freshness, cleanliness, and customer experience. From handmade sausages to premium cuts of beef, our Meat department is truly a cut above the rest. Our Meat Associates play a critical role in this experience by supporting our Butchers, assisting customers with confidence, and ensuring our cases are always fresh, full, and inviting. We believe in developing our team from within. As a Meat Associate, you’ll gain hands-on experience, expand your product knowledge, and learn valuable skills that can open the door to future opportunities within the Meat department and beyond. Many of our leaders started in entry-level roles, and we’re committed to helping motivated team members grow their careers with us.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic math and reading skills
- Strong attention to detail and visual presentation
- Team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude
- A passion for serving people
Nice To Haves
- Prior meat, grocery, or food service experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service by offering product knowledge, answering questions, and making personalized suggestions
- Maintain product freshness through regular rotation and quality checks
- Restock and rotate displays to ensure visual appeal and freshness
- Package, label, and price self-service items accurately
- Cut and prepare meat products to Joseph’s specifications
- Take and fulfill custom and special orders for customers
- Clean and sanitize work areas, tools, and prep surfaces consistently
- Operate and maintain knives, scales, band saws, grinders, wrapping machines, and other Meat equipment
- Assist with other tasks as assigned
