About The Position

Aerojet Rocketdyne, an L3Harris Technologies Company, is seeking an Associate Materials and Process Engineer (Chemistry lab) to join our growing facility in Camden, Arkansas. Performs a variety of duties in the mechanical and chemistry areas of the laboratory. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains laboratory test instrumentation. Works from specifications, operating manuals, engineering drawings and written material test instructions.  Works with complex test instrumentation and computer systems. Operates related test instrumentation, conducts routine and complex testing, and reports data in prescribed format. Operates as a bench chemist conducting analyses per prescribed test methods.  This is an Entry-Level position.

Requirements

  • To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field or have completed their Bachelor’s degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of testing explosives and energetic materials a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Handle, process, and mix chemicals in a laboratory setting.
  • Sample and test raw materials, propellants, and explosives.
  • Prepare and collect raw test data.
  • Perform complex mathematical calculations.
  • Clean, assemble and dismantle test hardware, equipment, and laboratory apparatus.
  • Perform laboratory support work such as instrument calibration, cleaning, inventory, inspections, and material handling.
  • Generate test reports for completed analyses.
  • Review and submit lab documentation for changes including test and calibration procedures.
