About The Position

Under the general direction of the Material Planning Manager, the Material Planner is responsible for managing and optimizing the end-to-end material planning process to ensure the timely availability of raw materials, components, and finished goods. This role supports the Production Planning and master production schedule through effective use of the MRP system, strong planning discipline, and accurate purchasing requisition management. The Material Planner works closely with Procurement to ensure materials are proactively planned, ordered, received, and available to support manufacturing schedules and customer on-time delivery. This position plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, balancing supply and demand, minimizing material related risks, and controlling cost while meeting program and production requirements. This role also supports execution of the Effectivity Plan (EFP) checklist, requiring continuous cross functional coordination with Program management, Planning, Manufacturing, and Product Engineering to ensure all checklist actions are completed accurately, on time, and in alignment with program milestones.

Requirements

  • To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or have completed their Bachelor’s degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.

  • Coordinate with Purchasing to validate demand signals, resolve shortages, and ensure purchase orders meet manufacturing need by dates prior to work order release.
  • Execute material planning activities in support of the EFP checklist to ensure readiness actions are completed accurately, on time, and aligned to program milestones.
  • Serve as the primary materials point of contact for EFP execution, coordinating across PMO, Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Procurement to drive closure of open actions.
  • Identify, communicate, and drive resolution of material exceptions impacting EFP readiness (e.g. delays, substitutions, engineering changes).
  • Escalate risks when material availability does not support the Master Production Schedule (MPS) or when contract delivery dates are at risk.
