Clarkson Potter and Ten Speed Press are home to some of the most iconic authors and creators of our time including: Martha Stewart, Dolly Parton, Ina Garten, Amber Lewis, Toni Tipton-Martin, Hawa Hassan, Matika Wilbur, Ibram X Kendi, MrBallen, and many more. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills, a genuine passion for lifestyle books, and a strong drive to learn and advance within our fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role will be reported to the Associate Director of Marketing.

Requirements

  • 3 plus years of Marketing experience, publishing experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in book marketing or related media (magazines, food, lifestyle).
  • A strategic and creative thinker with a proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns from initial concept to final execution.
  • Exceptional copywriting and communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively to prominent authors and key stakeholders.
  • A collaborative, curious, and visually attuned individual with a broad range of interests, attention to detail, and a proactive approach.
  • Excellent organizational abilities, including the capacity to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.
  • An interest in or ability to design assets in Adobe Photoshop or Canva.
  • Experience in consumer or brand marketing with the ability to define target audiences, set goals, measure conversion/sales, synthesize metrics/data, and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead inventive title-marketing campaigns informed by market insights and consumer trends for forthcoming publications across a diverse list of titles.
  • Maintain consistent and supportive contact with authors and agents to maximize campaign impact, including the development of digital content, timelines, and integration across author social media and related platforms.
  • Cultivate relationships with external partners, influencers, and brands to broaden the reach of each title marketing campaign.
  • Work closely across departments with editorial, publicity, sales, and creative services (including social media, email marketing, design, copy, media buyers).
