About The Position

The Social Media & Marketing Assistant Manager plays a critical support role in building brand presence and engagement across digital and social channels for Tyson®, Hillshire Farm®, Jimmy Dean®, and the rest of the Tyson Foods® family of brands. This role is focused on setting strategy, and day-to-day execution — including content creation, community management, and campaign support — to help drive brand awareness, loyalty, and business growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years in social media, digital marketing, or related internship/assistant-level role.
  • Proficiency in social scheduling tools (e.g., Sprinklr) and familiarity with platform analytics.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Basic design/photo editing skills (Adobe Creative Suite/Express).
  • Strong written communication and copywriting ability.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Creative thinker with a pulse on culture and social trends.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create content across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and emerging channels).
  • Monitor brand channels daily and partner with social community manager on engaging with followers and responding to comments/DMs.
  • Track social trends and platform updates to identify timely opportunities for content and engagement.
  • Support influencer and brand collaboration campaigns by coordinating deliverables and reporting on results.
  • Optimize content based on performance metrics in conjunction with social community manager.
  • Assist in developing and updating organic social strategies aligned with brand objectives.
  • Conduct research on audience behavior, competitors, and cultural trends to inform content planning.
  • Contribute ideas for campaigns, content themes, and engagement initiatives.
  • Support testing and learning plans (e.g., A/B testing creative, posting times, formats).
  • Help translate performance insights into actionable recommendations for future content and strategy.
  • Assist with developing creative briefs for social posts and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and creative partners to ensure content is brand-right and visually compelling.
  • Manage digital asset organization (images, videos, copy) for easy access and reuse.
  • Be the lead of a cross-functional team to train and support content development.
  • Provide coordination support for owned channels.
  • Assist with budget tracking, vendor invoicing, and meeting logistics.
  • Support preparation of presentations, marketing collateral, and campaign recaps.
  • Maintain calendars and workback schedules to ensure projects stay on track.
