We pride ourselves in our commitment to excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The Associate Manager of Process Development will lead and serve as technical lead for a small team of chemists, providing hands-on guidance in process development, experimental design, and documentation related to scale-up and initial development of new compounds and commercial products. This role is responsible for ensuring robustness, throughput, yield, and quality targets are consistently met. The position requires strong project planning, organization, communication, technical documentation, and team leadership.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in process chemistry, particularly in scale-up and development with increasing responsibilities.

  • Strong project management and resource allocation capabilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional and customer-facing collaboration.
  • Experience with technical documentation and knowledge management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day technical activities for a small group of direct reports to develop processes that meet robustness, throughput, yield, and quality targets for both new compounds and commercial products.
  • Solve complex chemical problems which may arise in the group during process development, optimization or scale up of processes.
  • Display expertise in analytical techniques and statistical tools such as JMP.
  • Understand the concepts of reaction kinetics, purification of organic compounds, design of experiments, solubility and crystallization, mass transfer, heat transfer and process safety.
  • Communicate project progress and technical updates to internal teams and external customers.
  • Support preparation of process flow diagrams, specifications, and tech transfer documentation.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and optimize yields.
  • Collaborate with chemists, engineers, and manufacturing teams to support technology transfer.
  • Help train junior staff on lab techniques and documentation practices.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory standards.
