About The Position

The Associate Manager in Research and Development at Boston Scientific will lead a talented team within the Interventional Heart Failure group. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
  • 5-8 years of work experience in industry, with a combination of individual contributor and project team leader or functional team leader with direct reports.
  • Work experience in goal-setting and in providing ongoing coaching and performance feedback to direct reports.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching high performers and investing in people.
  • Experience managing complex equipment development and/or initiatives.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years of work experience in a medical device company.
  • Work experience in a new product development laboratory environment.
  • Experience managing initiatives or projects within an engineering organization.
  • Setting goals, creating plans, and executing to project completion.

Responsibilities

  • Manage functional deliverables and ensure technical excellence for material, process, and product development support to R&D project teams.
  • Support test and prototyping equipment activities within the IHF lab space.
  • Provide guidance and facilitation regarding technical strategies and approaches for execution of lab activities.
  • Provide team development and training to staff, assist employees in attaining career goals, motivate individuals to achieve results, and recruit and maintain a high-quality staff.
  • Assist in the development of budgets and monitor spending.
  • Identify and develop department function equipment, software, supplies, and tools.
  • Support and may lead general IHF organizational initiatives.
  • Determine appropriate staff levels, schedules, and resources.
  • Work with lab customers and project leaders to understand priorities and plan resource and time allocation accordingly.
  • Collaboratively determine project staff assignments and schedule work to meet completion dates and deliverables.
  • Maintain and enhance cross-functional team relationships.
  • Work cross-functionally in identifying and resolving technical issues.
  • Monitor and evaluate project and department progress and results.
  • Execute or delegate and guide non-conformance investigations and reporting.
  • Support or lead a large laboratory move consisting of core equipment and resources.
