About The Position

The Associate Manager, Product Integrity (AMPI) position is a developmental role intended to prepare the individual for assignment as a Product Integrity Manager. The AMPI works under the direction of the Manager, Product Integrity and performs routine and project tasks in support of product quality, and regulatory compliance. The AMPI will be assigned to manage the quality and regulatory compliance of products in specified departments. The AMPI will need to communicate well with cross-functional partners and understand how to prioritize the workload effectively to ensure deadlines are met, and projects are closed in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education Bachelor’s Degree Business, Quality Assurance, Compliance, Product Integrity, Engineering, or Related Field.
  • Minimum Special Certifications or Technical Skills Intermediate Excel skills Basic Database skills Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Minimum 2 years of industry experience
  • Domestic and international travel may be required.
  • Applicants in the U.S. must satisfy federal, state, and local legal requirements of the job.

Nice To Haves

  • Other Experience with consumer product testing, product integrity, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, Private Brand, product development, and/or direct import experience is helpful.
  • Domestic and international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Manages testing for assigned departments with regard to test grouping, failure disposition, corrective action plan, and retest requirements.
  • Develop and document product standards and/or specifications within your assigned division by collaborating with Product Development, Product Integrity Engineers, and Vendor as needed.
  • Partner with internal cross-functional partners regarding product development, regulatory compliance, vendor meetings, etc.
  • Provide vendor support by onboarding new vendors and answering existing vendor questions.
  • Assigns product designations, testing frequency, and GCC/CPC requirements settings in Michaels compliance system.
  • Reviews and approves product packaging for appropriate warnings and regulatory compliance
  • Manages investigation of quality, safety, compliance, or other product issues; assesses associated risks; determines root cause(s), and implements and monitors corrective actions in conjunction with overseas Product Integrity Engineers.
  • Manages Voice of the Customer for assigned departments.
  • Work with 3rd party partners, such as Michaels nominated testing labs, as needed.
  • Review and approve compliance chargebacks for assigned departments and resolve any disputes.
  • Assists PI Managers with special projects.
  • Research/learning on emerging industry/standard changes for assigned departments.
  • Other responsibilities, as assigned.
