About The Position

The Associate Manager, Plant Operations at Campbell's is responsible for overseeing production and packaging operations within the plant. This role involves leading a team to ensure high-quality product output while maintaining safety and efficiency. The Associate Manager will drive continuous improvement initiatives, develop employee capabilities, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. This position requires strategic planning and effective communication to align operational goals with corporate objectives.

Requirements

  • High school degree or GED required.
  • 8+ years of progressively responsible manufacturing management experience in the food or CPG industry.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Computer proficiency in Windows-based software applications.

Nice To Haves

  • B.A. degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a technical field preferred.
  • Experience with high performance work systems is desirable.
  • Cross-functional operations experience with a proven track record in schedule attainment, safety, quality, and cost.
  • Experience managing large groups of employees in a non-union manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards, HACCP guidelines, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Black Belt certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct all production operations for the designated business unit, working through supervisors/team leaders to achieve plant KPIs.
  • Ensure effective employee relations, coaching, and development, while resolving employee issues.
  • Implement training programs to develop leadership and technical skills within the workforce.
  • Collaborate with safety resources to maintain a safe work environment, achieving defined safety goals.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained and executed within operations, taking ultimate responsibility for product quality.
  • Manage productivity and efficiency metrics, ensuring optimal use of resources.
  • Champion a continuous improvement culture, identifying and implementing improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with planning to meet customer service targets and optimize staffing approaches.
  • Manage departmental performance measures and provide regular progress reports.
  • Develop and implement effective communication plans to keep staff informed about business objectives and changes.
