Job Title: Associate Manager, Operations Management - Additive Manufacturing & Machining Job Code: 32524 Job Location: Onsite at the Canoga Park, CA Facility Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday off Shift: Second Shift - 10% Shift Differential Job Description: This position will be responsible for directing the daily activities related to the execution on 2nd shift of Additive Manufacturing, Electro Discharge Machining, and machining of small components that are assembled into our rocket engines and power system products. The manager will oversee several work centers related to additive manufacturing and machining of small components for 2nd shift. The manager is responsible for the work center's performance to cost, schedule, and quality. This management position is also responsible for the performance of hourly and salaried personnel in supporting all current and future propulsion programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant Operations experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related Operations experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Managing Work Centers: Manage the throughput of hardware in the work center. Maintain metrics of performance to help monitor performance to maximize utilization of resources. Coordinate technical support to ensure hardware velocity. Maintain tooling and work center readiness (e.g. safety, calibration, and preventative maintenance plans).
  • Managing Union & Salary Employees: Direct daily work assignments to meet quality, cost, and schedule commitments. Maintain employee training, certifications, and critical skills. Mentor and support employees on career growth. Approve timecards and managing labor charging to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing & Process Improvement Initiatives: Drive process improvement projects to achieve greater efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability with a focus on reduced costs and improved quality.
  • Support & Drive Safety: Identify, report, and eliminate unsafe acts and unsafe conditions. Work with your teams to implement safety improvements and drive a culture that promotes a safe environment.
  • Support Site Audits: Support internal and external audits of the manufacturing area. Drive root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective action on any findings.
