About The Position

The Associate Manager, Market Access, and Payer Relations at Abbott is responsible for supporting and executing strategies to secure and maintain commercial payer coverage for Abbott's medical device technologies. This role involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to enhance engagement with insurance plans, contribute to policy discussions, and ensure understanding of market dynamics affecting access to medical technologies. The position requires a strong understanding of reimbursement practices and the ability to analyze and communicate trends effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years related experience in managed care and reimbursement.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years of managed care and reimbursement experience in the medical device field.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills with a high degree of initiative and motivation.
  • Advanced personal computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to secure and maintain timely coverage with regional and national commercial insurers.
  • Execute strategies to increase engagement with key individuals at insurance plans for education and medical policy development.
  • Leverage internal and external assets to understand local market dynamics affecting access to medical technologies.
  • Contribute to policy discussions and provide summary analysis for coverage requirements at various levels.
  • Track and monitor payer policy, communicating trends to better align payer strategy.
  • Support projects and activities associated with Abbott's Healthcare Economics & Reimbursement group.
