About The Position

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Inventory Planning & Control, the Associate Manager, will be responsible for the forecasting, planning and management of service parts, as well as product inventory, in the Service Operations Center to support Sharp’s service, marketing and sales strategies.

Requirements

  • Minimum four years college education in business or related field.
  • Knowledge/experience working with SAP.
  • Strong organizational abilities and communication skills.
  • 3 – 5 years related working experience in inventory management, preferably in the service industry.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Well versed on Microsoft office specifically Excel & Access.
  • Strong communication attributes including comfortable delivering presentations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Travel requirements approximately 20%.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified, or working toward certification, as CPIM or CIRM by APICS preferred.
  • Bilingual English / Japanese / Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing day-to-day operations and team activities.
  • Develop and maintain forecasting and planning parameters on the groups of service parts assigned. Perform a simulation to establish an inventory planning strategy to provide optimal performance and meet service objectives.
  • Plan and manage component inventory to support the remanufacturing operations and other service programs.
  • Plan and manage product inventory to support the exchange programs required for warranty support.
  • Provides support to OEM customers with parts ordering, order and backorder maintenance, and parts inventory.
  • Provides support for daily operations, team coordination, and strategic initiatives within the department.
  • Establish a forecasting database. Review forecast and planning data monthly and communicate monthly requirement projections to major suppliers.
  • Issue replenishment orders to suppliers in a timely manner and maintain inventory to provide optimal customer service levels and fill rates.
  • Establish, with the assistance of the Technical Service and Support group, an initial service parts list to support the new product launch. Monitor inventory levels to support equipment population through their life cycle and adjust inventory planning parameters to changing service requirements.
  • Negotiate with supplier(s) on delivery and quality standards. Monitor the supplier's on-time delivery performance to provide the desired inventory service level and for continuous improvements.
  • Assist in resolving supplier delivery discrepancies.
  • Maintains Parts Master Files in SAP with current data from overseas or domestic sources.
  • Monitors delivery and service performance of orders from internal and external suppliers. Expedites as necessary to meet the requirements.
  • Analyze backorders and take necessary corrective actions. Interact with suppliers, customers, and technical support to resolve parts shortage issues.
  • Provide professional customer support and timely assistance through the Parts Email Box, ensuring accurate information, prompt responses, and effective issue resolution.
  • Prepares and distributes daily, weekly, and monthly operational KPI and financial reports.
  • Help develop and implement process improvements and best practices
