About The Position

The Commit Partnership (“Commit”) seeks an experienced, solutions-oriented professional who is committed to our mission to serve as an Associate of Major Giving. This person will report directly to Commit’s Managing Director of Philanthropic Investments. The Philanthropic Investments (PI) Team plays an integral role in supporting the mission, vision, and impact of Commit by cultivating, securing, and stewarding investors in the organization’s work. We work collaboratively across the organization and with external partners to secure an annual budget of at least $43M. The Associate, Major Giving, will be a key contributor to the success of the Philanthropic Investments team by supporting individual investor engagement, project management, and prospect research efforts. This role will be responsible for assisting the Managing Director of Philanthropic Investments and the Director of Major Giving in developing and tracking engagement strategies, identifying and researching prospective investors, and ensuring the smooth execution of individual Major Giving investment initiatives. The role requires a strong level of decision-making, judgment, and analytical ability to assess the capacity, alignment, and readiness of potential donors. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and enthusiastic about leveraging data and research to enhance the team’s fundraising capabilities. Reporting to the Managing Director of Philanthropic Investments, the Associate will play a critical role in maintaining team workflows and contributing to the overall fundraising strategy.

  • Ability to understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate need.
  • Ability to communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
  • Ability to describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in building and managing a high performing pipeline of individual investors for a nonprofit organization.
  • Experience with Salesforce Nonprofit Marketing Cloud with the knowledge, understanding and ability to maintain accurate record keeping.
  • Experience utilizing Donor Search (or other wealth screening tool) to qualify leads for entry into the investor pipeline.
  • Experience as a classroom teacher.

Responsibilities

  • Major Giving Project Management
  • Support the execution of individual giving strategies and initiatives by developing project plans, timelines, and tracking tools.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts to ensure that projects are completed on time and align with team goals.
  • Monitor, track, and report on moves management and the progress of individual giving strategies, providing updates to PI Team leadership.
  • Pipeline Management & Collaboration
  • Maintain and organize a Major Giving prospect pipeline, tracking the qualification status and next steps for each lead.
  • Collaborate with the Managing Director of Philanthropic Investments and the Director of Major Giving to prioritize prospects and align strategies for engagement.
  • Prospect Research & Qualification
  • Identify and research potential leads, analyzing philanthropic interests, financial capacity, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Utilize a defined qualification process to evaluate leads and determine if they meet the criteria for active cultivation, exercising sound judgment and decision-making.
  • Prepare detailed profiles and reports to share qualified prospects with Portfolio Managers.
  • Data Management & Reporting
  • Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of donor interactions in Salesforce.
  • Track metrics and outcomes for individual giving initiatives, creating regular reports to evaluate success and inform strategy.
  • Team Collaboration & Administrative Support
  • Work closely with the Manager of Philanthropic Investments to ensure alignment and coordination across individual investment efforts.
  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling, documentation, and preparation of materials, for donor meetings and other PI team initiatives.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions to enhance donor engagement strategies.
