About The Position

The Associate, Maintenance - Truck position at Element Fleet Management involves working in an inbound call center environment to support clients and repair shops. The role focuses on leveraging diesel technical expertise to review and approve or decline repair requests based on client policies, ensuring a superior customer experience while managing inquiries related to automotive repairs and roadside events.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of experience as a mechanic or service advisor specializing in diesel engines (heavy duty trucks/vehicles).
  • Active ASE Certification preferred (in lieu of ASE Certification, candidates must agree to obtain ASE Certification within 12 months of employment).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Availability to work early evenings, 1 day per weekend, and holidays.
  • Proven communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Apply diesel technical expertise in responding to incoming calls from drivers and suppliers while resolving inquiries involving repairs and roadside events.
  • Assist drivers in locating appropriate repair facilities.
  • Use technical knowledge to effectively negotiate repairs on our client's behalf.
  • Effectively manage and adhere to AHT, quality, and other relevant department metrics.
  • Triage and respond to inquiries coming from our Maintenance Platform portal, email, or other internal tools.
  • Have direct contact with suppliers, drivers, and on occasion fleet client contact(s).
