Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Novelis has approximately 13,000 employees in 32 operating facilities on 4 continents. The Novelis Guthrie, KY team is seeking an Associate Maintenance Leader. The Associate Maintenance Leader manages a team who maintain and repair manufacturing equipment. The incumbent will harness their maintenance and reliability experience and skills to lead multi-craft Maintenance Technicians. They also will use leadership abilities to contribute to driving safety, productivity, and exceptional quality in the Guthrie Plant. Through collaboration with multi-functional teams, this role will prioritize team workload and drive continuous improvement. As a Leader, the goal is to coach your team members in technical and behavioral competencies to deliver high impact business results. A successful candidate will be self-directed and have the ability to communicate with team members at all levels.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a 24/7 operation.
  • Strong commitment to safety.
  • Experience in developing and implementing improvement processes and projects.
  • Experience in root cause analysis.
  • Experience with maintenance standard methodologies such as shutdown planning and execution, preventive maintenance, and precision maintenance techniques.
  • Experience with predictive maintenance technologies (i.e. vibration & oil analysis, thermography, ultrasound).
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.

Nice To Haves

  • BS Degree
  • Knowledge of and experience working in aluminum process operations
  • Experience working with CMMS, SAP
  • Five (5) or more years of leadership experience in Maintenance, Engineering, or Operations

Responsibilities

  • Drive a proactive approach to maintenance following RCM (Reliability-centered maintenance) principles.
  • Inspect facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance.
  • Work with the planning and scheduling team to define weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work.
  • Schedule maintenance resources and coverage to maintain the appropriate onsite personnel level at all times.
  • Train and develop well-rounded multi-craft Maintenance Technicians.
  • Supervise Technicians and/or Contractors during installations, repairs or maintenance (electricians, plumbers, contractors etc.).
  • Inspect and maintain building systems (heating, ventilation, grounds etc.).
  • Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance.
  • Participate in coordination of projects.
  • Provide leadership to the Maintenance Team members to implement cost effective preventive and predictive maintenance of the plant process equipment.
  • Provide resources to support equipment related loss investigations to determine root causes and provide recommendations and mitigation plans to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, procurement, and other identified partners to drive improved asset availability and support reliability.
  • Ensure the facility's assets are operating reliably, efficiently, and in sync with all safety guidelines and government regulations.
  • Support Maintenance in the review and rationalization and optimization of effective PM plans.
  • Use communication skills to establish partnerships across to the site to achieve plant performance goals.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekend duty as necessary to manage facility performance.
