About The Position

BHE GT&S has an exciting career opportunity as an Associate LNG Technician/LNG Technician/Senior LNG Technician at our Jacksonville, FL location. The Associate LNG Technician requires 0-2 years of related plant operating experience, while the LNG Technician requires at least 3 years of related plant operating and maintenance experience. The Senior LNG Technician requires at least 5+ years of related plant operating and maintenance experience. The successful candidate must be willing to work in an industrial environment, with the bulk of their time spent performing field work including the inspection, testing, service, repair, configuration, calibration, and installation of automated control systems, Human Machine Interface (HMI) consoles, network hardware, and related components. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and is a member of a multi-disciplined crew responsible for the operation of a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Plant.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years related plant operating experience for Associate LNG Technician.
  • At least 3 years related plant operating and maintenance experience for LNG Technician.
  • At least 5+ years related plant operating and maintenance experience for Senior LNG Technician.
  • Computer skills sufficient for operating, programming, and auditing databases and other applications.
  • Knowledge of analytical chemistry and laboratory concepts and techniques.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations.
  • Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Analytical and deductive reasoning skills.
  • Laboratory skills, oral and written communication skills, instrumentation skills, and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve equipment or process problems.
  • Ability to conduct site inspections or walk downs, including working at heights.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including electrical and control schematics, P&IDs, and piping drawings.
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Work Identification Credential) upon employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred degree in Electronic or Mechanical fields.
  • Experience with Honeywell Experion and Allen Bradley control systems.
  • Competency in performing Distributed Controls System (DCS) or Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs) changes in logic, graphics, control loop configuration, and network configuration.
  • Experience in commissioning medium to large scale industrial control installations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform changes to existing Honeywell Experion logic and HMI graphics, and other local Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs) to maintain the DCS network hardware and configuration.
  • Perform periodic backup on all DCS and supporting computers.
  • Submit drawings and configuration changes made on the DCS, network, and field instrumentation.
  • Assist in training and guiding less experienced Technicians and address Operations control system concerns.
  • Monitor or assist in the loading of LNG Barges.
  • Participate in training on environmental safety, operations, and security procedures.
  • Recognize the safety and environmental consequences of actions taken.
  • Maintain the highest levels of environmental and safety compliance.
  • Perform all duties applying safety protocols and adhering to regulatory mandates.
  • Other duties as assigned.
