About The Position

Clyde & Co US LLP is seeking a litigation associate with up to 10 years of experience to join our growing litigation and insurance coverage practice in Seattle. This practice primarily represents insurers in coverage and bad faith cases but also defends corporate clients through trial in commercial litigation and catastrophic loss and wrongful death claims. We are open to considering candidates who may not have a background in insurance coverage, but that are eager to learn. What you'll do: Analyze rights and obligations under insurance policies, draft coverage opinions, and provide coverage advice to clients. Conduct legal research, analyze findings, and draft memoranda. Prepare and analyze pleadings, discovery, motions, supporting briefs, and legal correspondence regarding insurance coverage litigation. Meet and confer with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties. Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations. Take a proactive role in managing matters, deadlines, and communication with clients.

Requirements

  • Possesses excellent academic credentials.
  • Is admitted to practice in WA and in good standing with the bar.
  • Has excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Has strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Has the ability to simultaneously handle sensitive and time-sensitive matters.
  • Has effective problem-solving skills.
  • Has the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Has an interest in insurance coverage and coverage litigation matters.
