About The Position

The Associate Licensing Engineer is responsible for supporting dry fuel storage and transportation projects through the execution of licensing actions in accordance with 10 CFR Part 72 and 10 CFR Part 71. This role supports current and future client needs through the maintenance and execution of licensing processes and procedures and by responding to licensing‑related questions from clients and internal Holtec associates, while supporting design and manufacturing activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited, four-year university
  • 0-3 years demonstrated, applicable experience in project engineering, manufacturing support, nuclear licensing, or comparable field
  • Ability to independently manage assigned project tasks while adhering to strict quality assurance standards and deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Professional
  • Familiarity with the nuclear and/or power generation industry and applicable U.S. regulatory frameworks, including 10 CFR Part 71 and Part 72 licensing requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of U.S. NRC guidance and regulatory processes related to Part 71 and Part 72 implementation, including Regulatory Guides, Standard Review Plans, Interim Staff Guidance, and evaluations performed under 72.48, 72.212, and/or 50.59

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the design and licensing of new dry fuel storage and transportation systems
  • Coordinating with design and engineering personnel to ensure new designs and design changes comply with applicable regulatory requirements
  • Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining documentation in support of engineering design changes and on‑site manufacturing activities
  • Interfacing with cross‑disciplinary technical teams at Holtec and reviewing technical material prepared by other engineering groups
  • Assisting with the preparation and revision of Safety Analysis Reports (SARs)
  • Preparing or reviewing evaluations performed in accordance with 10 CFR 72.48
