About The Position

The Associate Legislative Counsel at Michigan Farm Bureau is responsible for advocating for the interests of Farm Bureau members and the agricultural community in Michigan. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in an agriculture-related field or public affairs management.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in the public policy arena, with knowledge of state legislative and regulatory processes.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present to diverse audiences.
• Experience with personal computers.

• Experience in an agriculture-related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development of policy at the county and state level.
• Disseminate information and training on policy development techniques and probable issues to Farm Bureau members and committees.
• Conduct statewide, regional, or district policy development meetings for county Farm Bureau leaders.
• Research issues and prepare training materials to assist in policy development.
