SUMMARY The Associate Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting all server operating systems, configuring and installing hardware and operating system software components. He or she must be able to install and validate server operating systems, as well as perform basic troubleshooting functions. This role also includes maintaining documentation on all hardware and software and ensuring appropriate monitoring is in place.

  • Support server operating systems, configure and install computer hardware and operating system software
  • Install and validate server systems, troubleshoot and resolve problems and outages
  • Assign system logon passwords, maintain software logs, and manage system software installation media
  • Provide backups of servers, software, and applications. Interact with database staff (DBAs, system programmers)
  • Maintain documentation library for system software
  • Support applications and assist in troubleshooting
  • Manage batch processing and scheduling
  • Monitor server performance
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement server operating systems, software and hardware
  • In process to attain a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum of one year of experience in systems support
  • Working knowledge of network technology
  • Applicable programming experience
  • Familiarity with multiplatform environments
