The Associate IT Security Specialist supports Identity Access Management (IAM) operations and assists with user access provisioning, deprovisioning, and access reviews under supervision. This role helps maintain identity governance compliance and assists with basic IAM administrative tasks while developing foundational knowledge of identity and access management principles, systems, and best practices. Assists in identity and access management practices and procedures under guidance from team members. Supports IAM operations by following established workflows for user account management, access provisioning, and identity governance processes. Demonstrates understanding of HIPAA security standards and applies them in identity management activities. Processes routine user account creation, modification, and termination requests following established IAM procedures and approval workflows. Assists with granting and revoking system access based on approved requests, role-based access control policies, and least privilege principles. Maintains accurate records of access changes, assists with audit preparation, and ensures IAM activities align with security policies and regulatory requirements. Assists users with basic authentication issues, password resets, and access problems while escalating complex issues to senior team members. Participates in IAM training, stays current with identity management best practices, and develops knowledge of emerging identity technologies and security standards. Communicates effectively with requestors, approvers, and technical teams regarding access requests, account status, and IAM-related matters. Must understand technical identity concepts to interact effectively with both technical teams and end users requesting access.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program or have obtained a completed degree.
  • Must have solid foundational knowledge of information security principles and techniques necessary to secure access to company resources.
