This position in Tech@Lilly (Information Technology) Sourcing group in Global Procurement supports Tech@Lilly Procurement partners across IDS. The role serves as a business partner to this area to minimize supply risk and ensure competitive product and service costs with our vendors. The Tech@Lilly sourcing associate will lead the strategic sourcing process from strategy development and supplier selection through contract negotiation and ongoing supplier management. The associate will work closely with the Tech@Lilly functions to address their business needs with our external providers. This will involve understanding the market to ensure competitive environment, propose new opportunities where applicable and partner with key functional groups to deliver optimal business results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1-3 years of procurement or similar experience
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position

  • Previous IT Procurement experience strongly preferred
  • Work experience in pharmaceutical environment
  • Previous direct negotiation experience and understanding of the commercial laws preferred
  • Previous experience in managing third party relationships
  • Experience in working in a regulated environment
  • Having a strong working knowledge of the movement of goods and related services for pharmaceutical products and the related regulations

Responsibilities

  • Understand the requirements of the business partners on a global basis
  • Educate business partners on procurement practices and policies to maximize the value of the purchases
  • Build strong working relationships with business teams and functional leadership
  • Effectively use data and metrics to drive the optimal business outcomes and lead continuous improvement efforts
  • Communicate proactively on projects and other deliverables
  • Develop and implement category strategies for supported Tech@Lilly area by assessing the current situation, future needs, marketplace dynamics and benchmarking
  • Manage the supplier identification and selection process
  • Lead the contracting strategy development and negotiation process
  • Partner with the business to manage strategic relationships
  • Participate in cross functional procurement initiatives
  • Adhere to all corporate and procurement policies and procedures
