About The Position

Corteva Agriscience™ has an exciting and challenging opportunity for an experienced scientist to serve as Regulatory Technician in the Regulatory Analytical Sciences Team within Global Regulatory Sciences R&D. The technician will provide analytical support to regulatory projects that enable registration of new products and defense of existing products in the market. The analytical work includes quantitative analysis in complex biological matrices at residue levels. This position is in Indianapolis, IN. Regulatory Analytical Sciences provides quantitative, residue level analytical support and expertise for crop protection product registrations and product defense. The successful candidate will partner directly with internal teams to provide quantitative residue analytical skills and expertise to support Good Lab Practice (GLP) and non-GLP studies, including analytical support for Residue, Ecotoxicology and Environmental studies. This role requires analytical experience, Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) and sample analysis experience, knowledge of sample extraction and clean-up techniques from biological matrices, understanding of GLP requirements, and demonstrated ability to partner effectively within a team. Specifically, we are seeking a residues technician with strong analytical chemistry expertise.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a BS degree in a science related field, preferably chemistry.
  • General knowledge of chemistry, computers, and laboratory techniques.
  • Ability to conduct research and provide high-quality, finalized data in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to effectively interact with a diverse group of customers, peers, and R&D regulatory and residue experts

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 2 years relevant work experience which should include the following instrumentation: analytical chromatography systems (LC/GC/UHPLC) and mass spectrometry.
  • Quantitative LC-MS/MS residue analytical experience in small molecules.
  • Experience with quantitative extractions and sample clean-up techniques from various complex agricultural matrices.
  • An understanding of GLP regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the planning, conduct, and reporting of studies to support product registration and to develop biologically active research chemicals. Supports laboratory testing and data generation as outlined by the principal investigators for the Regulatory Analytical Sciences residue studies.
  • Operate laboratory instrumentation, including balances, Geno grinders, centrifuges, gas chromatographs, high performance liquid chromatographs, and mass spectrometers. Interface with instrument/equipment owners and the Lab Operations team to maintain system performance and minimize downtime.
  • Complies with all laboratory safety procedures, GLP Standards, and all other study-specific or pertinent regulatory agency requirements Documents activities in the required manner. Maintenance of neat, accurate, and complete records.
  • Interfaces with essential individuals in the Regulatory Science function of Corteva Agriscience. Interact positively with all members of the Fate & Metabolism group to foster a team approach to projects.
