The Associate, Interim Inventory Control position is responsible for following established procedures and guidelines to receive, handle, store, record, and dispatch goods in a store or warehouse. This role involves receiving incoming goods, checking for damage and discrepancies between goods and invoices, accurately sorting, labeling, and storing goods, and arranging storage to optimize warehouse space. The associate will also pick, pack, and dispatch outgoing goods according to written or verbal requests or orders. Data entry into a database or other computerized system is required to maintain up-to-date stock records and retrieve stored information to respond to inquiries regarding inventory levels or delivery schedules. Other routine clerical activities may include answering telephones, updating stock cards and inventory records, and completing receipt, transfer, delivery, and dispatch forms. The position operates under direct supervision and is responsible for a variety of functions within the distribution center, such as receiving, stocking, loading and unloading merchandise, and operating heavy-duty equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts.
