The California Department of Insurance (CDI) is seeking a dynamic Associate Insurance Rate Analyst or Insurance Rate Analyst with experience studying and applying the principles and techniques of insurance rate making who have participated in the examination of rates, rating plans and rating systems of insurance companies, to join the Rate Regulation Branch. The Associate Insurance Rate Analyst (AIRA) works with more complex data from large databases or financial reports, conducts data analysis and compiles data to generate rate component determination (RCD) generic factors, and prepares other mandated reports. Reviews and analyzes the more complex rate filings containing rates, rating plans, ratings systems, manual rules and policy forms for property casualty lines of business. The analyst communicates with insurers to conduct data calls and prepares summary reports and provides consultation to other departmental staff on technical issues. The analyst performs individual or group projects as assigned by the Bureau Chief and performs other duties as required.
