About The Position
The Associate Instructor position at the Ana Grace Academy of the Arts Elementary Magnet is designed to support certified professional staff in delivering effective educational experiences to students. Under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, the Associate Instructor will assist in meeting instructional goals and objectives, while also alleviating certified staff from non-professional duties. This role is crucial in enhancing the educational program by allowing certified professionals to focus on curriculum development and other essential tasks. In this position, the Associate Instructor will work closely with students to reinforce their learning in various subjects, including reading, language arts, mathematics, and computer skills. The instructor will engage with students both individually and in small groups, implementing assigned programs to support their educational needs. Responsibilities also include assisting professional staff with the administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests, and assessments, as well as preparing instructional materials tailored to individual student requirements. The Associate Instructor will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and orderly classroom environment, managing student behavior, and ensuring that students remain focused on their tasks. Additional duties may involve supervising students during non-instructional periods, such as lunch and recess, and accompanying them on field trips to provide necessary supervision. The position also requires participation in the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process, assisting students with special needs, and fostering effective communication with parents to enhance student involvement in their education. Overall, this role is integral to the educational framework at the academy, providing essential support to both students and certified staff, and contributing to a positive learning environment.
