About The Position

This job exists to provide technical support and administration of the New Mexico Corrections Department (NMCD) Data centers, networking devices, and security appliances. The job will be responsible for the configuration and administration of the NMCD Internet circuits statewide and will work with the lead Security and Network admins to ensure all agency networking and network-based systems are operational. The job gets done by performing as the junior network administrator of the in-place layer II and III networking devices and security appliances. The position is responsible for the uptime, maintenance, and network connectivity for all NMCD field offices to mission critical applications and file shares. The position provides support to the New Mexico Corrections Department Staff which consists of the Adult Prisons Division, Probation and Parole Division, Administrative Services Division, and the Adult Parole Board.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering, or similar technical degree and two (2) years of experience in end-user support, systems administration, or network administration.
  • Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License.
  • Employment is subject to a pre-employment background investigation and is conditional pending results.
