About The Position

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Identity Operations Analyst to join our Security and Identity Solutions team. This role focuses on supporting the day-to-day operations of our identity and access management (IAM) environment while developing foundational skills in enterprise security and identity lifecycle processes. As an entry-level team member, you will help maintain and improve identity services under the guidance of experienced analysts and engineers. You’ll gain hands-on experience with key IAM functions, including user provisioning, access requests, group and role management, authentication and authorization workflows, and identity governance processes. This position also provides the opportunity to learn about security best practices, compliance requirements, and operational procedures within a healthcare setting. Key responsibilities include assisting with account provisioning and deprovisioning, troubleshooting access issues for end users, supporting identity-related systems, and contributing to documentation and process improvements. You will work closely with senior team members to resolve technical challenges and ensure consistent, secure access across the organization. Requirements

  • 1 or more years of experience in IT, preferably with some exposure to identity and access management
  • Basic understanding of IT security concepts
  • Familiarity with common office software and tools
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Nice To Haves

  • Internship experience in IT or security operations preferred
  • Basic knowledge of IAM concepts preferred
  • Basic knowledge of healthcare or clinical access preferred
  • Familiarity with directory services (e.g., Active Directory) preferred
  • Basic scripting or automation knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in executing basic identity lifecycle management processes, including onboarding and offboarding tasks
  • Assist in the execution, and delivery of clinical projects according to established timelines and quality standards
  • Help process routine identity-related service requests
  • Learn and support basic automation workflows
  • Follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs) for identity-related processes
  • Help compile operational metrics and reports
  • Learn and follow security policies and compliance requirements
  • Assist with routine access reviews under supervision
  • Help maintain basic audit documentation
  • Learn to identify and report identity-related security incidents
  • Learn from and support mid and senior team members
  • Participate in team meetings and knowledge sharing sessions
  • Handle basic technical support tickets for identity management issues
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
