About the Team Virtus from FIS is a leading provider of alternative investment services and technology solutions, specializing in delivering comprehensive front, middle, and back-office services to asset managers, banks, and other institutional investors. Virtus helps its clients manage their alternative investment portfolios, including CLO/CDOs, private equity, hedge funds, and other alternative assets. What You Will Be Doing The Associate I supports core operational and client‑service activities within the Global Asset Administration team. This entry‑level role is designed for individuals who are building foundational expertise in the financial or structured finance industry.

Requirements

  • Typically, up to 2 years’ experience in banking/finance industry
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including basic Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret credit agreements and related loan documents.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to exercise sound judgment, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.
  • Self‑starter who takes initiative and ownership of responsibilities.
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Consistently meets deadlines, targets, and scheduling requirements with flexibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field, or the equivalent combination of training, education, and work experience
  • Experience with daily loan transactions and loan tracking system
  • Knowledge of loan accruals and payment rules

Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, and interpret funding‑related documentation and correspondence to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Process loan settlements and account-level transactions in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Perform high‑risk servicing tasks, including payment and research corrections, loan payoffs, fee processing, modifications, and account closures.
  • Research and resolve internal and external inquiries, providing clear, timely, and service‑focused support across phone, email, and workflow systems.
  • Conduct quality reviews on loan records and processing activities to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Monitor daily reports, follow up on outstanding items, and maintain thorough case documentation.
  • Accurately enter and update data, routing items requiring specialist review and escalating complex issues with complete case notes.
  • Build foundational knowledge of products, systems, and processes to address inquiries and troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Maintain a strong customer‑service mindset, adapting to evolving processes and contributing to a seamless client experience.
  • Collaborate with internal partners—including operations, product, risk, and technology—to resolve escalated or complex concerns.
  • Meet defined performance standards for quality, productivity, and attendance.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and recommending process or documentation enhancements.
