The Associate Human Resources Business Partner at Duke Health serves as a key contact for candidates, hiring managers, and internal stakeholders, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for new employees. This role encompasses managing employee development initiatives, culture enhancement programs, data analysis, project management, and administrative support, all aimed at fostering a positive work environment and supporting organizational goals.

  • Interpret HR, entity and system policies and procedures, providing guidance to leaders and team members.
  • Access and interpret HR data, generating reports and conducting preliminary analyses of trends.
  • Assist with high-volume, time-sensitive data/reporting needs, such as flu shot compliance and turnover analysis.
  • Execute local employee recognition and culture enhancement programs, including event planning and logistics.
  • Create clear communication processes to explain Duke Health operations and provide regular updates.
  • Support HR Business Partner(s) in collecting and coordinating information for various initiatives.
  • Assist in implementing action plans from culture survey outcomes.
  • Participate in compensation activities, including salary planning and market adjustments.
  • Provide local administrative HR support, such as scheduling events and coordinating meetings.
  • Welcome newly hired employees and manage the onboarding engagement plan.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in multiple HR disciplines, including compensation practices and employee relations.
  • Knowledge of applicable employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
  • Professional HR Certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation and project management skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong multi-tasking abilities.
