About The Position

Hubbell's location in Portsmouth, NH is looking for an Associate Hardware Engineer who wants to grow and develop with us as we continue to grow! The Associate Hardware Engineer provides the engineering support needed for design and development of new and redesigned products to maintain production and performance of existing products. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Familiarity with electronics fundamentals including analog circuits, digital logic, and microcontrollers.
  • Basic hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters).
  • Exposure to PCB design tools through academic projects or internships.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office and Windows.

Nice To Haves

  • Internship, co-op, or project experience involving hardware or embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with RF/wireless communication concepts or analog circuitry.
  • Exposure to simulation tools such as SPICE or LTspice.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering or project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support electrical hardware development activities from concept through production, including circuit design, schematic capture, PCB layout support, testing, and documentation.
  • Assist in ensuring that designs meet system‑level functional requirements and performance expectations.
  • Participate in development of design verification strategies, including executing test procedures under supervision.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop cost-effective, high-quality solutions.
  • Support troubleshooting and board bring-up using lab tools such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Assist in preparing hardware documentation including test reports, schematics, BOM updates, and design notes.
  • Learn and apply requirements related to regulatory compliance (FCC, IC, UL).
  • Demonstrate strong curiosity, willingness to learn, and openness to coaching from senior engineers.
  • Apply analytical creative problem-solving techniques.
  • Participate actively in design reviews and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
  • Be eager to learn and support analytical engineering tasks such as design‑margin evaluation, validation, and reliability analysis.
